I have had multiple roles across our technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) organisations, but always remained actively involved in people and leadership development activities.
Most recently, I have worked on challenging BPO projects in France, Romania and the Netherlands - I love the cultural diversity that comes with this and working across Accenture's global delivery teams.
I love the location flexibility of my role, in terms of leading virtual teams, plus the direct interaction with clients we help on their journey to intelligent operations.
My role also allows me to invest time and energy in our talent of the future and work on multiple leadership development programmes.
What I love about my role is I have the flexibility to shape outcomes and am judged (rewarded) on what is delivered, rather than having to follow a process someone else has designed - I get bored very quickly, so having the freedom to be creative and have fun makes all the hard work worth while.
It will sound trite, but you will not be at your best if you try to be somebody else in how you work or operate in a way that is not natural to you.
I was humbled to win an award for Most Inspirational Leader at my level in 2017 - this meant so much to me as it was voted for by people I work with (people who I have led on projects and worked very hard at times!)
